SUBSTANCE: in one aspect, control information can be sent in a first frequency position (e.g. a first set of subcarriers) if data are not sent, and in a second frequency position (e.g. a second set of subcarriers) if data are sent. In another aspect, control information can be processed in accordance with a first processing scheme if data are not sent and in accordance with a second processing scheme if data are sent. In one configuration of the first scheme, a constant-amplitude zero-autocorrelation (CAZAC) sequence may be modulated using each of the modulation symbols for the control information in order to obtain the corresponding modulated CAZAC sequence which can be sent in the first set of subacarriers. In one configuration of the second scheme, modulation symbols for the control information may be combined with modulation symbols for data, converted to the frequency domain and converted to a second set of subcarriers.
EFFECT: transmission of data and control information which is as much efficient as possible so as to increase output of the system.
