SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and a terminal for initiating a multi-point half-duplex session (PT session) (Push to …) in a service based on a communication session initiation protocol (SIP). The SIP invitation message is received by a PT-server from a client terminal which supports a PT-service (PT-terminal) so as to initiate a communication session for at least one of target PT-terminals; the PT-server sends a request message to a PT XDMS server (XML Document Management Server) so as to check the set of rules for criteria for accessing a PT-box; the PT-server receives a reply message from the PT XDMS in response to the message with the request; the reply message contains a set of rules for criteria for accessing the PT box for at least one target PT terminal.
EFFECT: method of using a PT box service when a specific terminal is not capable of registration or is not registered in the core of information system IMS, and parametres for setting up a service for multipoint half-duplex communication cannot be transmitted to the PT service server due to disconnection of power to the terminal.
