FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates casting and may be used for production of casting moulds and cores for casting heatproof, stainless, alloy steels and alloys with fusion point exceeding 1500°C. Proposed backing material comprises the following components in wt %: periclase - 30-72, chromite - 22-44, ferrospinel - 3-11 and orthosilicate - 3-15. Preferable ferrospinel-to-orthosilicate ratio makes 0.7-1.0.
EFFECT: reduced metal penetration and mould shedding, lower costs of casting.
