FIELD: fire safety.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to refractory industry, namely to production of chrome-periclase materials intended for lining of out-of-furnace treatment of steel and metallurgical units operating in high-temperature mode in contact with aggressive medium. Chrome-periclase refractory including granular fused chrome-periclase, granular and dispersed periclase, chromite, disperse periclase contains sintered or fused periclase, and as granular periclase contains fused periclase with following ratio of components, wt%: granular fused chrome-periclase 45–60, granular periclase 5–20, dispersed periclase 15–30, chromite with particle size 0.1–0.8 mm 10–25. Weight-average particle diameter of the fused chromitopiclase fraction with particle size of not more than 6 mm and not less than 0.1 mm is not less than 2.3 mm. Median particle size of the periclase of the fraction with particle size of not more than 0.1 mm is less than 20 mcm. Refractory composition can contain up to 20 wt% of recycling with content of Cr2O3 18–25 wt%, such as crude oil scrap or scrap from presses.
EFFECT: low heat conductivity, high heat resistance and slag-resistance.
