FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: composite structure includes a substrate and a liquid in contact with the substrate. The substrate contains nonwoven material, foam plastic or combinations thereof and has basic mass from 15 to 500 g per square metre. The composite structure has bending rigidity less than 1000 mN·cm. The method of producing a composite structure having at least one substrate layer and at least one layer containing foam plastic with open pores involves applying foam onto a substrate, where the foam contains water and a thermoplastic polymer; and removing at least a portion of the water from the foam to form foam plastic.
EFFECT: obtaining napkins with higher softness and elasticity while preserving strength, integrity, flexibility and resistance to crushing.
