FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: metal-haloid lamp (10) comprises discharge chamber (12), which may be formed from ceramic material. Chamber forms an inner space (16). Ionised filler (17) is located in inner space. Ionised filler includes inert gas, mercury, haloid of alkaline metal, component of rare-earth metal haloid, containing at least one of barium haloid and strontium haloid, haloid of group IIIA and optionally a haloid of rare-earth element. At the same time one electrode (18, 20) is located inside discharge cylinder, to excite the filler when it is energised. When excited, the lamp has load to wall from 20 to 50 W/cm2, sufficient to maintain active tungsten-halogen cycle.
EFFECT: improved colour rendering, preservation of light flux values during lamp operation at high or low capacity - these are the technical result of the invention.
