FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: high-pressure gas-discharge lamp has a gas-discharge envelope (22, 61) which encloses a gas-discharge space (24) filled with ionising filler containing one or more halides. The gas-discharge envelope is made from ceramic material (51, 52) and has first and second end parts (33, 34). Leads (44), through which each end part is connected to corresponding electrodes (42), lie in the gas-discharge space (24) such that discharge is facilitated. At least one of the leads is in form of a rod (44) which contains iridium, which is directly soldered to the ceramic material, in which the sinter connection (71) between the rod and the ceramic material forms a direct solder between said rod and the ceramic material.
EFFECT: longer service life.
