FIELD: food industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to food industry. The additive contains ascorbic or citric acid or a citrate and the product of interaction of a component of natural origin with a preliminarily prepared solution of water, propylene glycol and glycerine, the ratio of propylene glycol to glycerine being 3:1. The used component of natural origin is propylene glycol or water-propylene glycol (with water content to 50 wt %) extract of plant raw material chosen from a group including linden flowers, ribwort leaves, sea-buckthorn berries, oat husk, rosemary, rice husk, burdock roots, grapes and grape kernels.
EFFECT: invention allows to produce an additive which has ability to preserve freshness of food products due to improvement of its moisture regulating, scent preserving and antibacterial properties.
