FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to equipment intended for cutting automotive tires along simultaneously to or several cutting lines, e.g. carcass-breaker-tread band that includes several rubber layers reinforced textile and metal cord. Device comprises metal cylinder with recesses and sharpened disk blades mating said recesses. Blade thickness exceeds recess width. Cutting edges are formed by one conical and one flat surfaces perpendicular to disk blade and metal cylinder rotational axes. Note here that blade flat surfaces face each other. Height of sharpening of each disk blade and recess depth in metal cylinder are selected subject to the following relations: , where Y is blade sharpening height, H is maximum thickness of material to be cut, b is recess width, β is angle between conical line generatrix and blade flat surface, T is recess depth.
EFFECT: high quality of cutting irrespective of tread band thickness and spacing between disk blades.
