FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: coated particles contain particles having a surface with hydroxyl functional groups and a cross-linked polysiloxane coating containing a product of reacting polysiloxane disilanol of formula , where n ranges from 1 to 25 and R denotes hydrocarbon groups, preferably alkyl groups having 1-4 carbon atoms, and a cross-linking agent for the coating. Said polysiloxane coating is at least partially grafted to the surface of the particles through a reaction with hydroxyl functional groups on the particles. The cross-linking agent is alkoxysilane having structural formula [R'O]m -Si-[R"]4-m, where m=3 or 4, and R' and R" are hydrocarbon groups. The particles are selected from groups consisting of silica, aluminium oxide, zirconium oxide, titanium oxide or mixtures thereof or mixed oxides, glass, mineral or synthetic clay, zeolite and organic particles having hydroxyl groups on the surface.

EFFECT: high scratch resistance without dullness of transparent coatings.
