FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: mobile device is used to select a WLAN access point for conducting a wireless transaction, where the selection is based at least partly on the number of access points associated with the selected WLAN access point; a first registration message is sent through wireless communication from the mobile device to the WWAN, where the said message requests identification information for accessing the selected WLAN access point; a second registration message containing a marker which contains identification information for accessing the selected WLAN access point is received from the WWAN; a third registration message which contains a marker is sent to the selected WLAN access point; access to the WLAN access point is received at the mobile device based on the marker; and at least part of the wireless transaction is conducted using the selected WLAN access point having access.
EFFECT: improved optimisation of switching between networks and wireless communication protocols.
