FIELD: food industry, tobacco.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to tobacco industry and may be used for production of cigarettes with combined filters as well as separate filters for application in cigarette holders, smoking pipes and so on. The filter for smoking consists of separate sections intended for removal of harmful products of tobacco pyrolysis. The filter contains a section containing a filter-catalytical material for removal of carbon monoxide made of a fibre material filled with a palladium-containing catalyst of low-temperature oxidation of carbon monoxide, particles size no more than 100 mcm, the catalyst content being no less than 15%. The said section is placed behind the section for filtration removal of resinous products along the air flow in the process of smoking.
EFFECT: proposed filter-catalytical material usage allows to purify tobacco smoke of carbon monoxide by 75-97%.
