FIELD: tobacco industry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to insulating material for use in smoking articles, heated without burning (HNB- Heat-Not-Burn). Insulating material for use in such heat-not-burn (HNB) smoking article, contains catalyst comprises a carbon monoxide (CO) catalyst and aerogel and does not contain glass fibre. Method for production of insulating material, which includes adding to insulating material containing aerogel, a carbon monoxide (CO) catalyst. Heat-not-burn smoking article, which includes insulating material. Method for reducing amount of CO in aerosol, generated by heat-not-burn smoking article, during implementation of insulating material is used.
EFFECT: technical result of disclosed invention is effective reduction of amount of CO in deposited aerosol, reduced temperature of external surface of smoking article compared with usually achieved in existing HNB smoking articles, preservation of disclosed material with catalyst its efficiency during whole process of smoking.
