FIELD: physics, robotics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to microrobotics and can be used as a gripping device for a micromanipulator. The magnetostrictive microgripper has a housing, gripping fingers and a drive. The drive consists of a magnetostrictive rod placed in a magnetising coil, one end of which is free and passes through a hole in the magnetically conductive housing of the gripper. The free end of the rod is rigidly attached to a movable gripping finger, and the other end of the rod is rigidly attached to a non-magnetic flange fitted in the housing of the gripper. The second gripping finger is immovable, is rigidly attached to the housing of the gripper and has limited linear displacement of the movable support finger in which a piezoelectric sensor is fitted.
EFFECT: invention improves operational characteristics associated with the possibility for easy adjustment of deviation of gripping fingers, and also ensures power sensing of the microgripper.
