FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: present invention employs at least one sensor to separately scan documents while they are successively passing through the processing machine. The sensor determines the direction faced by the front side of the documents. Depending on that direction, a route switch directs the documents on one of two routes, having equal length, inside the processing machine. If the document faces up, the route switch directs the document to the first route which directly leads to the collection point. If the document faces downwards, the route switch directs the document to the second route which has an overturned conveyor belt which turns the document about its longitudinal axis so that it faces up. The second route meets the first route, with the conveyor belt placing back the documents facing up in the same order of succession in which that document is located relative other documents before it was directed to the second route by the route switch.
EFFECT: high speed of processing banknotes.
