SUBSTANCE: sheet processing system according to one embodiment has a plurality of sheet processing devices, a sorting device, a storage unit and a controller. Each of the plurality of sheet processing devices has a feed portion in which a plurality of sheets is loaded in a piled stack state, an extraction mechanism which removes sheets on one of the feed portion, a transfer path which transports the sheet extracted by the extraction mechanism, a verification device which checks the sheet transported in the transportation path and a plurality of stackers stacking sheets sorted in accordance with the checked result, and outputs information on stacking state of stacks in each of plurality of stackers. Each of the plurality of sheet processing devices sorts and stacks the sheets in a plurality of stackers. Sorting device sorts and supplies a group of sheets formed from multiple sheets into any of multiple sheet processing devices. Storage unit stores information on the stacking state in each of the plurality of sheet processing devices.

EFFECT: controller receives information on a group of sheets and controls sorting of a group of sheets by a sorting device based on the received information on a group of sheets and information on the state of stacking sheets in a storage unit.
