FIELD: information technology.

SUBSTANCE: in order to control transmission of information between a head-end (1-6) and multiple client systems (CS) (13, 22) over a network (7) in which for each receiver, only the closest of multi-address router systems (35-38) is configured to send directly to a given receiver a copy of a message addressed to those multicast groups, the client of which is the given receiver, where information on user groups (UG), linking each registered CS from multiple CS in accordance with the UG from multiple UG, and the registered CS are joined to at least one multicast group so that all CS, associated with a specific UG, are in a common multicast group. Information which uniquely identifies the closest multi-address router system, lying closest to the receiver for the first CS is obtained, and the first CS is joined to the UG, which includes at least one more CS, having the same closest multi-address router system.

EFFECT: high efficiency of using network bandwidth.
