FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used in welding or building up articles from light alloys. Filler wire is fed into welding bath produced in metal melting by arc fired between two consumable electrodes and part connected to medium phase of three-phase arc power supply. Welding terminated, tungsten electrode 3 is brought into welding zone at 8-10 mm from the axis of torch 2 to form crater to reduce mechanical and thermal load onto main metal and volume of molten metal.
EFFECT: higher quality.
