SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to modification of halobutyl elastomers without using solvents, using an interphase transfer catalyst, particularly tetrabutylammonium bromide or trioctylmethylammonium chloride, in the presence of an alkyl-metal salt of a nucleophile based on oxygen as the modifier. Nucleophiles which are suitable for use in the present invention include metal salts of tert-butylacetic acid, strearic acid, benzoic acid, 4-(dimethylamino)benzoic acid, anthracene-9-carboxylic acid, linoleic acid or mixture thereof, prepared by neutralising with the corresponding hydroxide base.
EFFECT: modified halobutyl elastomers without use of solvents.
