FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: preparation of the dispersion involves (a) preparation of a stable dispersion from a phase of non-gelatin resin containing a film-forming resin based on a cationic polymer and (b) elongation of the chain of the film-forming resin to form a stable aqueous dispersion containing a phase of a high molecular resin distributed in the dispersion medium. The resin phase includes a partially blocked aliphatic polyisocyanate hardener, and a resin which contains active hydrogen and cation groups of an amine salt. The electrodeposition coating composition contains the obtained aqueous dispersion. An electroconductive substrate is coated with said composition. The coated substrate is heated until the electrodeposition coating hardens. The multilayer composite coating includes a layer of a hardened primer made from the electrodeposition coating and a hardened outer layer.

EFFECT: obtaining a multilayer coating which is resistant to photodegradation and to formation of oily stains.
