FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: alloy includes following components, wt %: Cu 4.1 - 5.5, Mg 0.30 - < 0.75, Mn 0.15 - 0.8, Ti > 0.05 - 0.4, Cr 0.05 - 0.4, Ag 0 - < 0.7, Zr 0 - < 0.2, Fe 0 - < 0.20, preferably 0 - < 0.15%, Si 0 - < 0.20, preferably 0 - < 0.15%; residue consists of aluminium and other impurities or random elements, each < 0.05%, in sum < 0.15%, also 0.1% < Ti + Cr < 0.4%. The procedure consists in casting an ingot, in homogenisation and/or preliminary ingot heating after casting, in ingot hot forming into a preliminary deformed blank by one or more procedures chosen from a group. The group consists in rolling, extrusion and forging preliminary deformed blank, optionally - in additional hot and/or cold forming to a desired shape of the blank, in heat treatment for solid solution of the said formed blank, in quenching using either sprinkling cooling or immersion into water or other quenching mediums, in optional elongation or compression of quenched blank, and in natural or artificial ageing of quenched and not necessarily elongated or compressed blank to a desired condition.
EFFECT: improved balance of high durability, fracture toughness and high resistance to inter-crystalline corrosion.
