FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of articles from wrought aluminum alloy of 2XXX series. Method of manufacturing an article from wrought aluminum alloy of 2XXX series, wherein the method includes the following steps of casting an ingot from an aluminum alloy of 2XXX series, preheating and/or homogenizing the ingot, hot treating the ingot by one or more methods, selected from a group consisting of rolling, extrusion and forging, to obtain a hot-treated article from a wrought alloy, which is further subjected to artificial aging. Method of aging an article includes two steps: first, at temperature of 90 °C to 120 °C for at least 10 hours, and then at temperature of 150 °C to 205 °C for at least 4 hours.
EFFECT: providing high values of strength and resistance to corrosion cracking under stress.
