FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: in a digital rights management method and system, access to part of content is granted to a client who is a domain member in accordance with the license belonging to the license holder. This demands successful authentication that a membership relationship exists between the client and the domain, which is reflected in a first status variable, and that an associative link exists between the license holder and the domain, which is reflected in a second status variable. Both relationships are annulled by executing an online protocol between parties in the relationship, after which both parties delete the corresponding status variable. The domain controller allocates administration of statuses associated with the domain to a client so that the client can update their status administration.
EFFECT: high efficiency of managing a client's content accessing rights.
