SUBSTANCE: in proposed method a license request for an application is received from the client synchronisation provider in the licensing service; information relating to the license is received from the commercial partner offering the application through the merchant synchronisation provider, wherein the merchant synchronisation provider represents an abstraction layer that provides the licensing application programming interface (API) to the commercial partner without allowing the commercial partner to directly access the licence service licence destination layer; the application license for the client computing device is returned; information relating to the status of the license is received from the client synchronisation provider; and the license terms are regulated according to the license status.
EFFECT: creation of an enhanced licensing service.
