FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to continuous casting, particularly, to producing coated casting from reactive metals. Furnace comprises chamber to heat and produce metal melt bath, passage to communicate inner chamber with inner chamber outside atmosphere and rule out ingress of outer reactive atmosphere into inner chamber to produce melted metal casting between passage inner wall and outer surface, coat solid material source and heat source for metal melting. Passage inner wall has inner circular flange to make expanded section arranged below circular flange to produce liquid glass bath and narrowed section arranged behind circular flange to produced coat on said casting from aforesaid material for protection against reactive atmosphere.
EFFECT: possibility to be used for whatever metal or special alloys that require barrier layer or glass coat for protection against outer atmosphere effects.
