FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, in particular to the continuous casting of reactive metals such as titanium. In the process of cutting the ingot is cut through annular barriers 47 and 49 located above and below the cutter, the barriers are adjacent to the outer perimeter of the ingot and ensure prevention of foreign debris through the barrier into the inner chamber of the furnace 1 and the rollers 71, conveying the ingot.
EFFECT: method comprises forming a continuous ingot in the mold 54 placed in the inner chamber 12 of the melting furnace 1, the continuous casting in inert atmosphere, the ingot moving rollers 60 and the cutter 62 cut the ingot.
