FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of steel. Method comprises metallisation of fines of iron ore or concentrate of iron ore using a reducing agent, in which a carbon-iron intermediate product is formed a pressure chamber under high pressure, isolated from atmosphere, as well as an accompanying volatile substance. Intermediate product is fed into iron-melting furnace and melted to produce liquid iron. Liquid cast iron is converted into steel in steel melting furnace, physically connected to iron melting furnace to form a combined unit. Iron melting furnace is a channel induction electric furnace containing smelting bath, from which during melting of intermediate product secondary gas is released.
EFFECT: invention ensures reduced heat losses and minimum emissions into atmosphere.
