FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: proposed membrane is produced in dry stretching and features almost round pores and ultimate tensile strength in machine direction vs that in transverse direction varying from 0.5 to 5.0. Proposed method comprises polymer extrusion into precursor nonporous material an stretching precursor material along two axes. Said two-axis stretching comprises stretching in machine direction and in transverse direction. Stretching in transverse direction comprises simultaneous controlled relaxation in machine direction.

EFFECT: improved physical properties of microporous membranes and expanded applications.
