SUBSTANCE: invention relates to new or improved microporous single- or multi-layer accumulator separation membranes, separators, batteries, including such membranes or separators, methods of making such membranes, separators and/or batteries and/or methods of using such membranes, separators and/or batteries. According to the invention, the multilayer polyethylene/polypropylene/polyethylene microporous separator manufacturing method includes stretching in longitudinal direction with subsequent stretching in transverse direction and subsequent calendering stage as means of reducing thickness of multilayer microporous membrane to reduce relative porosity of multilayer microporous membrane in controlled mode and/or to increase tensile strength in transverse direction.

EFFECT: technical result is excellent mechanical strength characteristics.
