METHOD TO ASSESS AND FORECAST TECHNICAL CONDITION OF REINFORCED CONCRETE HEADERS OF ENGINEERING UTILITIES Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC E02D29/00 G01N17/00

Abstract RU 2420630 C1

FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: method to assess and forecast technical condition of reinforced concrete headers of engineering utilities includes visual and instrument inspections of a structure, including full-scale studies of the header medium and structure, laboratory tests of samples and specimens, checking calculations and development of recommendations to recover serviceable condition of structures. In process of visual and instrument inspection, the reinforcement corrosion degree is determined as percentage to the initial cross section, and based on the produced and accumulated data, experimental-calculation nomograms are built, which characterise probability fields of the header structures faultness in process of operation for various levels of operational reliability, whenever the bearing capacity reserve is lost. Nomograms link probability values "corrosion degree", "operation duration" and probability values of stochastic process "structure degradation during operation life", which take into account kinetics of damages accumulation and variation of bearing capacity under aggressive effect of external and internal media and active loads. Based on the built nomograms, further condition of structures is forecasted, and recommendations are developed to recover their serviceable condition. At the same time as the reinforcement corrosion degree reaches from 2 to 7 percent, the necessity to do preventive or routine maintenance is decided, as the reinforcement corrosion degree reaches from 7 to 15 percent, it is decided whether it is necessary to do routine or capital repair of structures, as the reinforcement corrosion degree is from 15 to 25 percent, it is decided whether it is necessary to do capital repair of structures or to reconstruct the facility, and when the reinforcement corrosion degree is over 25 percent, the decision is made to immediately reconstruct or liquidate the facility.

EFFECT: improvement of operational reliability of a facility.
