FIELD: industrial construction, technology of evaluation of technical condition of smoke stacks. SUBSTANCE: method evaluating industrial safety of smoke stacks includes execution of inspection and calculation operations, determination of actual parameters in process of inspection, determination of loads and permissible values of parameters by computation, comparison of permissible and measured values of parameters, determination of suitability of smoke stacks for further safe use on basis of comparison. Industrial safety is evaluated at stage of use first on basis of analysis of design, construction, operational documentation, technical specifications and preliminary survey which results in preparation of preliminary survey program including determination of type of smoke stack, list of parameters of structures of smoke stack for preliminary survey, then parameters are measured in accordance with program of preliminary survey. Measurement results are compared with permissible values and on basis of comparison there are found sections which members are . subject to detailed instrument inspection. Parameters of members of structures for detailed inspection are defined, detailed inspection of members of structures is conducted and by its results causes of disagreement of measured and permissible parameters are established and degree of suitability of smoke stack for further safe use is evaluated. EFFECT: widened technological capabilities in evaluation of safe use of smoke stacks thanks to more efficient control over condition of their structural members at various stages of design, erection and use by way of provision of correspondence of operational conditions to design requirements, by well-timed detection of defects and damages and by execution of needed repair on this basis. 55 cl, 1 tbl
