FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: fibre-optic pressure sensor, made from optical fibre, has radiation input and output parts, as well as an part lying in the transmission channel of a rubber housing with a rectangular cross-section. The radiation input and output parts of the optical fibre pass through metal-reinforced tubing. The transmission channel has at least one part for placing an optical cable parallel the base of the housing, made in form of a groove with a wavy surface at the bottom. The optical fibre in the groove is pressed to peaks of the projections of the wavy surface by a plate made from heat-resistant rubber. There are optical connectors at the ends of the radiation input and output parts of the optical fibre.
EFFECT: high sensitivity and reliability of the sensor during prolonged use under high load owing to formation of the detecting element of the sensor with the least number of bends of optical fibre and minimum mechanical loads at bending points of the optical fibre.
