FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: procedure for determination of friction factor for flexible solids consists in bringing friction pair to contact and in transfer flexible solid relative to counter solid. Further, there is registered sliding friction force. Also, the counter solid is set on a floating platform positioned into a tank with liquid where an initial level h0 has been preliminary measured. Upon successive transfer of the solid there is measure sliding friction force Fmp and the level of liquid under a dynamic mode h. Friction factor k is determined by formula where ρl is density of liquid; g is acceleration of gravity; Sl, Sp is total area of liquid in the tank and area of the floating platform correspondingly.

EFFECT: upgraded accuracy of measurement and reliability of tests.
