FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to neurology. Magnetic-resonance tomography of brain is carried out, focal and diffuse changes of brain are determined and from life anamnesis determined are: arterial hypertension, ischemic heart disease (IHD), diabetes mellitus, excessive body weight (EBW), gradations and numerical values of risk factors are determined, after which prognostic coefficients F1 and F2 are calculated by formulas: F1=-0.74-0.64·a1-0.59·a2-0.25·a3+0.85·a4-0.34·a5+0.84·a6+1.14·a7-1.67·a8-0.59·a9-1.68·a10-0.62-a11. F2=-7.75+2.28·a1+2.1·a2+0.9·a3-3.03·a4+1.2·a5-2.98·a6-4.05·a7+5.91·a8+2.08·a9+5.95·a10+2.2·a11, respectively, where a1…a11 are gradations of risk factors. If obtained values of prognostic coefficient F2 are greater or equal F1 high risk of vascular subcortical dementia development is predicted, and if F1 is larger than F2, risk of dementia development is low.
EFFECT: method extends arsenal of means for predicting development of vascular subcortical dementia.
