FIELD: medicine, pharmaceutics.
SUBSTANCE: it is shown that during 5 days of the joint introduction with Haloperidol, Afobazole intensified a general neuroleptic action of Haloperidol in an apomorphine vertical orientation test, and weakened an undesired side cataleptogenic effect of the neuroleptic in a parallel wall test; the effect remained in the chronic 21-day joint application of Afobazole and Haloperidol. In the joint introduction with Haloperidol, Afobazole induces the reduction of its side extrapyramidal disturbances and intensifies the general neuroleptic effect. The given examples show ability of Afobazole (sigma-1 receptor ligand) to prevent and correct side motor disturbances and akinete-rigid syndrome of the majority of effective neuroleptics (triftazine, aethaperazinum, moditen-depot, piportyl and others).
EFFECT: production of the agent for prevention and correction of motor, extrapyramidal disturbances induced by neuroleptics (ie for prevention and correction of neuroleptic parkinsonism).
