FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: there is performed regulation of temperature of zirconium settling filament in unit for zirconium iodide refining by changing voltage on it according to calculated volt-ampere characteristic. Also, temperature is regulated in the unit during process by air cooling internal wall of central portion and external wall of the unit case. Their air cooling is commenced when temperature of the external wall of the unit case reaches a specified value corresponding to beginning of sedimentation of zirconium on a filament. Rate of air flow for cooling the internal wall of the central portion of the unit is regulated considering voltage supplied to the zirconium settling filament and temperature of effluent air cooling the internal wall of the central portion of the unit. Air flow rate for cooling the external wall of the unit case is first regulated by temperature of the external wall, and further, when voltage supplied to filament reaches a specified value corresponding to optimal rate of process of zirconium iodide refining - by temperature of effluent air cooling external wall of the unit case. Two gates are installed in an air duct for cooling the internal wall of the central portion of the unit. One of gates is installed above the device for control over temperature. Its position is regulated manually depending on voltage supplied to the filament of zirconium settling. The second gate is installed under the device for temperature control and is connected to it via a control unit. It can be steadily turned from 0 to 90 degrees depending on temperature of cooling air. The gate for cooling the external wall of the unit case is installed in the air duct and can be steadily turned from 0 to 90 degrees.
EFFECT: raised efficiency of procedure.
