FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: transducer comprises: a pressure sensor having a pressure retaining structure, wherein the pressure sensor is configured to communicate with pressure of the fluid medium and provide a pressure output signal depending on the process pressure, an acoustic detector connected to the pressure-retaining structure configured to receive an acoustic signal and measuring circuitry connected to the pressure-retaining structure and an acoustic detector. The method of measuring the manufacturing process parameter involves the following: linking the pressure sensor with the fluid medium of the process through an impulse pipe, measuring pressure of the fluid medium of the process using a pressure sensor connected to the fluid medium of the process and which provides an output signal which depends on the process pressure, receiving an acoustic signal which propagates through the pressure retaining structure and an output signal is obtained, which depends on pressure of the fluid medium of the process based on the acoustic signal and process pressure.
EFFECT: obtaining an additional linear pressure measurement result for use during diagnostic inspection of a primary sensor, direct sensor for measuring linear pressure or for use in determining other process parameters.
