FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: soil layer is loaded directly with tracks of motionlessly fixed caterpillar tractor with hydromechanical transmission fixed by means of a force-measuring device. Load is smoothly increased. Using the force-measuring device, values of tangent force of track cleat at soil are registered. Soil deformation is measured, which corresponds to displacement of a lower caterpillar track. A curve of soil deformation dependence on a tangent force of track cleat at soil is built, and using a fracture point in the straight line of the dependence curve, the limit tangent force of track cleat at soil is detected, when soil break-off does not happen yet, as well as a corresponding limit elastic deformation of soil shift, and pliability is detected on the basis of a ratio.
EFFECT: improved validity of information on elastic properties of soil, namely, on soil pliability.
