FIELD: automotive industry.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in increasing track ground contact area at preset track length by increasing track width on low load-bearing surfaces and making track edges bevelled. Track ground contact area surface features R-radius-whistler. Track width features convex ground contact surface with radius R. Support rollers can be moved out, along with tract contact area, on circular arc by turning track carriages on frame axles. Caterpillar drive comprises frame with guide wheel and final drive wheel, carriages with shock absorbers and support rollers, rolls and track chains. Track chain consists of pin-jointed tracks with ground grousers that features flanged outer surface. Support rollers are fitted on carriage to move out on circular arc level. Paired support rollers carriages can rotate on frame axles to get track roller ground contact surface located on radius R and are furnished with drive cylinders. Note that guide wheel can move closer to final drive wheel to move track ground contact surface out along radius R with support roller fixed axle.
EFFECT: increased cross country capacity.
