FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: diagnostic method consists in registration of electric high-frequency pulses near power line with the help of electromagnetic transducer and digital oscillograph connected to it by flying along the line along the road route. Measuring equipment is moved along power line route with the help of automatically controlled unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of small size. During the flight electric field intensity is measured with the help of sensors located at aerial vehicle wing ends. The average value of electric field intensity received from the sensors is calculated and used for automatic maintenance of aerial vehicle's vertical location in relation to power line wires influencing its elevation rudder. Aerial vehicle's location along the road route is automatically maintained by influence at fin on the basis of the difference of measured electric field intensities. Measurement information and current coordinates of aerial vehicle received with the aid of GPS- or GLONASS- navigators is recorded to the memory of portable computer located at UAV.
EFFECT: simplicity, low labour content.
