FIELD: overhead electrical networks.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for monitoring the technical condition of the elements of an overhead power transmission line (TL) by means of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The control method for a UAV that monitors the technical condition of an overhead power line in the event of a loss of radio communication with a ground control station is characterized in that an electromagnetic field is formed around the overhead power line supports located in the central part of pre-established emergency landing areas for an unmanned aerial vehicle, the intensity level of which is higher than the level of intensity of the electromagnetic field generated by the overhead power line, and in case of loss of communication with the ground control point, the unmanned aerial vehicle continues to move along the overhead power line under the control of the autopilot, which is previously commanded to implement the emergency landing mode in the area below it after how its sensitive elements will fix the source of the electromagnetic field with a strength higher than the intensity of the electromagnetic field created by the overhead power line.
EFFECT: increase of speed and accuracy of identifying the UAV emergency landing site.
