FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: set of invention relates to metal forming, namely, to pipe bending and may be used for production of multi-bend pipes with different curvature radii. Bending is performed in axial displacement of tubular billet and simultaneous turn of bending head element from initial position through angle that allows preset tubular biller curvature radius. Then, bending element is returned into initial position. Another bend is produced by turning bending head element. Proposed method uses machine tool comprising tubular billet axial feed device arranged between thrust device and bending head and provided with tubular billet clamping device. Bending head is made up of driven turntable supporting tube to push through tubular billet that features expanded spherical shape on its end. Bending element is made up of cartridge with tubular billet passage. Cartridge inner surface is a sphere that, together with that of tube, makes ball joint. Note here that bending element incorporates turning drive on tube spherical surface made up of hydraulic cylinders pivoted on to turntable with their rod articulated with bending element.
