SUBSTANCE: confectionery is packed in sheet material wrapping which has a bowl (folded, bowl-shaped element) formed of the same material as product wrapping. The method and device allow to use mandrel with blades which mandrel interacts with shape-generating cavity and can accept assigned configuration so that it can enter the shape-generating cavity to put the wrapping into bowl shape with engaging with a product. The wrapping has central zone on which product rests and from which bowl-shaped element stretches. The bowl has lateral dimension (or diameter) which is less than maximum lateral dimension of packed product.
EFFECT: creation of packing made of sheet material forming folded bowl and snugly embracing a product.
