FIELD: packaging industry.
SUBSTANCE: method is intended for wrapping a product adhering to surface of wrapper. Method includes providing a first and a second sheet of wrapping material, shaping said first sheet according to a cup-shaped configuration, bottom portion of which substantially matches bottom portion of surface of product, a tubular portion which extends above top of product inserted in so-shaped sheet and an annular flange terminal portion surrounding opening of said tubular portion, introducing product in shaped sheet and connecting said second sheet to said flange so as to form a closed wrapper. After introduction of product and prior to connection of second sheet with flange, method includes forming bottleneck of said tubular portion directly above top of product, exerting on flange a pressure for binding edges of flange or for limiting its radial movement, so as to cause adhesion of tubular wall to a substantial portion of top surface of product. Device for implementing method comprises shaping means for receiving cup configuration of first sheet to lower portion, substantially corresponding to product bottom surface, a tubular portion extending over product top inserted into shaped sheet, and an annular flange end portion surrounding opening of tubular portion, and also comprises means for introducing a product into shaped sheet and plate for connecting second flange. Device comprises an iris tool to form a constricted neck tubular portion directly above upper portion of product and pressure element cooperating with iris tool to provide for pressure flange, suitable for fastening flange edges or to limit its radial movement during formation of bottleneck for attachment of tubular considerable part to wall upper surface of product. Confectionery product packaged in a sealed wrapper, is made as described above.
