FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: image of a region is obtained in the red band 570…670 nm. The weighted average value of the wavelength and energy of the reflected flux is calculated. Air pollution qΣ is determined. The image pixels are ordered according to brightness. Bar charts of their distribution are then constructed and the average value of brightness of a bar chart is referenced to the calculated value qΣ. The absolute distribution of air pollution on the area of the region is presented in form of a Rayleigh distribution with the obtained calculated numerical characteristics.
EFFECT: high accuracy and statistical stability of the end result.
