FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method involves synchronous capture with a digital video camera and a hyperspectrometer, mounted on a space vehicle with the position of entrance slit of the spectrometer coaxial to the central area of the spectrozonal image of the video camera; selecting pixel gray gradation contours in the red band of the visible region of the image of the video camera; measuring attenuation of the light beam reflected from the underlying surface and passing through the atmosphere twice, using the hyperspectrometer in oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen dioxide and sulphur dioxide absorption bands of equal width; calculating concentration of said gases in the atmosphere based on the known concentration of oxygen.
EFFECT: invention increases rapidness and reliability of determination owing to exclusion of the need for reference control areas on the spectrozonal image.
