SUBSTANCE: system (1) has at least one control station (4) and a plurality of field devices (5), wherein in each field device (5) there is at least one sensor (11) for determining a measured value (Mx) of a defined process parameter (G) and/or status parameter (Z) and/or an actuating element (12) for influencing the determined process parameter (G) and/or status parameter (Z) through the default value (Sx). Each field device cyclically or acyclically provides every other field device (5) of the system (1) with obtained measurement values (Mx) and/or default values (Sx) of the process parameter (G) and/or status parameter (Z), which are specific for each measurement device, as information (I), and accordingly, current information (I) on both obtained measurement values (Mx) and/or default values (Sx) of the process parameter (G) and/or status parameter (Z) is available for each field device (5) in form of the current vector (P) of the process status, wherein in the field devices (5) and/or the control station (4) there is a control-processing unit (16).
EFFECT: design of a system for automating a process, executed by determining, controlling or influencing different process parameters or status parameters in a technological or analytical process.
