SUBSTANCE: changeable field device for automation of processes is associated to the medium of communication, which function can be compounded with the specific application so it carries out only functions necessary for the user, and changeable field device consists of naturally field device which carries out only the basic function, and separately located functional blocks which carry out functions specific to concrete application, thus naturally field device and separately located functional blocks are associated to the communication medium which is executed in the form of data link by means of which there is a data exchange between naturally field device and the functional blocks.

EFFECT: expansion of functionality of field device at the expense of affixion of additional functional blocks to it.
