ELECTROMECHANICAL CONVERTER WITH LIQUID COOLING Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC H02K9/19 H02K1/20 H02K19/10

Abstract RU 2422969 C1

FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to features of an electromechanical converter design with liquid cooling, which is mainly designed for slow-speed devices and may be used, for instance, as an electric motor in drum hoists or motor-wheels of light vehicles, as an electric generator in wind-driven power plants or as a starter generator in petroleum and diesel generator stations, electric vehicles with a combined power plant, as a synchronous compensator, a motor for elevators and in other devices, where high specific characteristics are required, or expanded functional capabilities. The electromechanical converter with liquid cooling of stator windings comprises at least one stator-rotor pair, in which a stator has a power frame arranged in the form of a flange of the fixed converter axis, along a circular perimetre of which there are teeth of material with high heat conductivity, between which there are stator windings arranged in cores with high magnetic permeability. At the same time according to this invention the specified stator teeth include holes for passage of cooling liquid, and the stator flange body contains discharge and drain headers of a cooling liquid, which communicate with the following holes.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of the electromechanical converter stator winding cooling, increase of its specific capacity and rotation torque at its lower angular frequencies of rotation and specified dimensions with simultaneous reduction of weight, increase of its efficiency factor and expansion of the application field.
