FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to drive system for roll mill, particularly, pilger cold rolling mill. Proposed pilger rolling mill comprises, at least, one mill reciprocating stand with, at least, one crank mechanism with arm for, at least, partial compensation of stand inertial forces generated by, at least, one drive, and, at least, one con rod articulating mill with crank arm. It incorporates two units, each made up of crank mechanism, crank arm, counterweight and con rod arranged on both sides of centre plate of drive system and driven by, at least, one drive, in opposite directions.
EFFECT: cheap and simple compensation of first-order inertia forces originating in stand reciprocation.
